What conditions made it possible for Hitler to rise to power?

I know that the German citizens were angry due to the Treaty of Versailles, and wanted someone to blame. Hitler was very charismatic, and successfully convinced the general population that the Jews were to blame. This gave the Germans a sense of comfort in knowing that 'it wasn't their fault,' but why else? What other conditions were in Hitler's favor?
