Can you explain this WWI question to me?

As part of the Versailles peace negotiations, Poland insisted on access to the Baltic Sea. Thus, Germany was divided into two parts (marked "Germany" and "E. Prussia" on the map), separated by a narrow neck of land with access to the port of Danzig (now Gdansk) that was granted to Poland. What problems do you see arising from this territorial compromise?
