What is the contribution of versailles treat toward the rise of facism in germany?
After the end of WWI in 1918, all of the allies and central powers met at Versailles, to think of ways to punish the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire) etc. In the Treaty of Versailles, Germany had to take full responsibility for the war, have to pay back war debts, and wasn't able to have a military. The German people needed relief, and needed a leader they can confide in, and to them, it was Hitler. Hitler promised to take back the Treaty of Versailles, and to start regrouping the military. He started on his campaign to retake "Germany" which were portions of Czechoslovakia, Austria, and the Rhine country in France. From there, he took Poland and WWII began.
